How many HTC phones will NTT DoCoMo have available?

Posted in Uncategorized by extrafox on June 28, 2006

Since the press release back in January [NTT DoCoMo], there have been a number of speculative pieces and images to surface on the Net. What seems clear is that there will be at least one, maybe more, Windows Mobile 5.0 phone to choose from in Japan. Some or all of them may even be GSM compatible. That would mean I could travel to and from the US with a single phone.

In addition, a 3G smartphone manufactured by the Taiwan-based High Tech Computer (HTC) will soon be marketed by DoCoMo in Japan, market sources indicated. On June 15, HTC announced the MTeoR, a 3G smartphone featuring Windows Mobile 5.0 Direct Push technology [DigiTimes].

Please launch soon because I need my calendar to sync with Outlook. After the past two years with the SMT 5600 and then the Cingular 2125, I have gone into shock here in Japan. Ironic considering Japan is known for having the latest in cellphone technology.
